Philosophical Counselling - Cape Town

Born in Winnipeg, Canada, 1957. Got to Vancouver in 1974, married Rob in ’80. Went to Johannesburg in 1987 to set up a safe house for the underground anti-apartheid movement. Left rather quickly in 1990 and returned to Vancouver. Worked as a bookseller for several years, then earned a Bachelor of General Studies (Humanities) degree at Simon Fraser University, 1997.

Returned to South Africa in 1997. Received an MA in Philosophy (cum laude) at Stellenbosch University in 2002, with a dissertation later published as Love & Arms: Violence and Justification After Levinas. Met up with local philosophers in the Southern African Philosophical Counselling Association at the same time. In practice since 2002, along with publications and presentations at international conferences.
