A bit more about me:
I was born in Johannesburg in 1976 and got my start in design and web development in the mid-90's. I've been playing with Flash since back when it was called FutureSplash Animator. I got my professional start in a pioneering digital media company called Digerati, back in 2000. Digerati was the digital arm of TWBA/Hunt Lascaris, which meant that we got to work on all sorts of cutting-edge projects for big name clients.
After building a number of cool games, sites and campaigns for Digerati (a couple of them won Loeries) I left in 2003 to focus on a freelance Flash development career. Highlights from this period include the development of a pretty slick training course builder developed solely in Actionscript. A year later I was picked up by Modlin eLearning, an educational software house that boasted major international clients. In my six years as lead Flash developer / technical manager at Modlin I developed a huge number of sophisticated Actionscript applications, including an entirely Flash-driven learner management system and all sorts of Maths, Physics and Life Sciences teaching software for pre-schoolers right through to university students. Mathsworks, one of the largest projects I worked on, won a prestigious UK BETT award.
Apart from these two positions I've entertained a number of freelance clients and built up a reputation as an efficient, reliable and highly skilled Actionscript developer; several Joburg agencies regard me as their first port of call for Flash projects that exceed their in-office skillset.
In 2011 I took a year off to travel the world and film a documentary. Upon my return to South Africa I decided to move down to Cape Town, which is where I've been living for the last couple of months.
